14 Day Liver Flush Begins

Wanting to burn up some of my alcohol drinking past, and feeling the need to clean up a bit, I have decided to take part in Dr. David Jubb's 14 day liver flush. With a clean liver, one can expect clearer skin, better digestion, and a feeling of being better rested! It is said that one can expect to pass 50 to 200 stones during this cleanse!! Better out then inside your body, right? Gallstones are little stones of puss surrounded by cholesterol, minerals and salts. During a fast, a person can expect up to 200 times more toxins in their urine than a person on a cooked food diet or a person not fasting. Live foods in the body, or a fasting body will promote a cleansing reaction in the body. Toxins from fat cells will enter the blood, plaque will melt from veins and arteries. Bile will begin to secrete from the liver and other pathways will begin to refresh and regenerate themselves. It is often said, if you want to live longer, "Eat Less." Dr. Brian Clement of Hippocrates Institute suggests people eliminate food intake once a week to give the body a break.
For me, it is a bit difficult to go without eating. Mainly because I work in a kitchen and it is important to taste what I prepare. A good way to help the body eliminate toxins without fasting is to consume foods in a liquid state. So for the next week or so, my diet will consist of 80-90% juices, smoothies, soups, and seed mylks. I will allow myself to taste foods when needed but will try to sustain a mostly liquid diet. On the last few days, I will begin the flushing. The actual flush will consist of drinking 10 oz's of straight olive oil, followed by lemon juice. Sounds tasty right??? Well I have 2 weeks until the flush days, so I shall keep you informed along the way.
